Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group played sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Toto's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for the lack of hit singles. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. The band went through old tapes and recordings to create the album. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as the drummer during the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.

The song "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. It was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe and many other countries. In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. The album featured three new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of songs from the past. The album was a hit all over the world and the band went on a tour around the world to promote the album.
